September 2010

Today, I’m very excited to share with you some photos from a chic and playful photo shoot inspired by white fluffy marshmallows.  The oh so pretty soirée was styled by La Fleur Weddings and photographed by SimplyBloom Photography. Jill described her visions of soft, billowy fabric, fluffy lamp shades, pillows and rugs, hot chocolate and s’mores, with tons of toasted marshmallows as the perfect palette for SimplyBloom’s romantic and airy photographic style.  The shoot is perfection. I always love a good mock wedding photo shoot!  SMP delivers!   So take a break from the days worries and bask in the airy and romantic dream below…

There is nothing in this world sweeter then a good friend. Someone to trust and lean on during times of heartache, knowing with all your heart that there is nothing they wouldn’t do for you. I am lucky to have had many wonderful friends throughout my life. A sad lesson I  learned when I entered my early twenties, is that some friendships last only for a season. This was a hard concept for me to accept. It does not make that person any less of a beautiful friend, it just means that they might not be as close to you as they once were. Things change, people change, they move, get married, have kids and life goes on…. Optimistically and wholeheartedly, I believe that some friendships are made for life.  And those of you that I may have fallen out of touch with, know that I love you and am only a phone call away!

I am grateful to have met Carolyn this year. She is one of the most unselfish caring people I have ever met, always ready to listen and share a laugh.  She has become one of my best friends. I  consider her family… and yes, you to JT and Colby.  Thank you for being in my life and accepting me into your family. I love you all. This one is dedicated to you!

The color of universal love, a quiet color… soft, feminine, delicate and romantic. Lovers of beauty favor the color, which is probably why I’m so attracted to it! Pink is a softer, less violent red. Lets call it the sweet side of red. It’s cotton candy and bubble gum…

I still see you in my dreams. Usually your hands are delicately wrapped around my face. Slowly you kiss each eyelid as if they were so precious they might break, but each dream like this is terrifying. They haunt me of a time when you thought I spun gold from light. Of those times when each love letter was more poetic than the last. It’s in reliving these memories that I realise that I can no longer remember a time that I have loved anyone more. I struggle to find the words to describe the cataclysmic and heart rendering moments we shared. Where beneath street lights you grasped my hands and warmed them… and I just knew. I knew that every person in this world deserved a moment like this. A moment where you knew how to be truly loved without the whisper of a single word.

… time for autumn colors, cozy sweaters, pumpkin pie candles, and cuddling up by a warm fire ….

Can fall arrive a little faster please?

Meet Jill La Fleur, the insanely chic designer behind today’s feature. Her work is exquisite… and it was photographed by Jose Villa, so you know it’s going to be brilliant. Get excited, not only because Jose and Jill made the most ingenious team, but also because it is French themed !!! Talk about a dream scenario… A big thank you to SMP for sharing the whole lot of photos with me. The ones below are my absolute favorites. Belle!

I’ll keep this one short, mostly because I’ve been creating this photo board all morning due to some serious back talk from my uncooperative computer. Sorry… I don’t mean to take out my frustration on this lovely wedding 😉 So on to the exquisite event….I decided to feature this wedding for two reasons, I think that Nicole Hill is so very talented and the dreamy floral arrangements caught my attention. I’m a sucker for flowers… and it doesn’t get much prettier than these bouquets, the words romantic and charming come to mind. All of the elegance was captured by Nicole Hill Gerulat. Enjoy!

I love the dress shots! I’ve never seen photos focus in on pieces of the gown, very romantic and sweet

“Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.”
~ Albert Enstein

“To forget the mistakes of the past
and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times
and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side
so long as you are true to the best that is in you. “

~Christian D. Larson

At first glance, you might think that you’re viewing another photo shoot. Probably because, this sweetly designed and perfectly executed wedding was so breathtaking, that it belongs in a magazine. I mean, actual white doves!? It’s a publishers dream.

Photographer Elizabeth Messina is a genius. I adore her romantic approach to photography… viewing her work is like seeing the world through a lens that captures all of the facets that make life so truly magical. After looking through tons of photos from this wedding, (thank you SMP) I was able to narrow it down to my absolute favorites… enjoy!

Did I mention the peep toe Christian Louboutin heels…Je t’aime
