Blushing Brides – Blush Wedding Dresses

A favorite color of mine is and has always been blush – the color of ballet slippers. The romantic, feminine and fabulous shade graced Spring runways and became the hottest wedding color for 2014 and 2015 spring weddings.

Blush dresses offer a gorgeous alternative to ivory or white. A sweet take on pastels and perfect for any bride wanting color on her wedding day, if you love the trend, below are some amazing dresses that embrace all shades and styles!

Blush and Black

Today’s gorgeous images swept me away and inspired me to put them all together in one beautiful and romantic post. Inspired by my favorite color combination — soft blush and striking black — it includes all things feminine, black and white polka dots, sweet and sexy lingerie, as well as flower embellished martinis; almost too beautiful to drink.

This weekend marks the last holiday of summer, from swimming pools and days at the beach to dinners outdoors, we say goodbye to sunlit days and warm summer nights.  And so, before we wrap ourselves in cosy knits and search for tall leather boots hidden in the back of the closet, may your weekend be a beautiful whirl of celebration, for the end of summer is upon us. Wedding Dress Details

There is nothing quite as beautiful or unique, as a perfectly gorgeous wedding dress. Lately, more care has been put into the intricate details on the backside of bridal gowns. Your guests will mostly be admiring you from the back as you walk down the isle, recite your vows, have your first dance, and toss your bouquet.

So, give them something to talk about! Whether you want to show it all off with a sexy low back or want to glow with an ethereal look and soft illusion back, there is a gown out there for you! And trust me, these gowns are as gorgeous in the front as they are in the back.

On a personal note, I couldn’t not include my dream dress (below), so simple and sophisticated, yet sexy and dreamlike. This dress makes me swoon. I think Im in love 😉

Chandelier Dreams

There is nothing quite as breathtaking and beautiful as this chandelier lined catwalk.  As images of art float down the runway, one shirt in particular caught my attention. Entirely composed of diamonds, it glided down the runway, catching every facet of light in the room, shimmering towards the awaiting flashes of photographers from around the world. Truly breathtaking, a stunning work of art.

Here, we love all style inspiration, from couture to the everyday woman.  But today it is all about elegance.  Beaded and silk works of art.  Shades of perfectly pretty neutrals, to bright accent pieces like fushia and red, all color is fitting for those sunlit days that fade into unforgettable summer nights . . .

Beauty Inspiration

A few gorgeously chic ideas and images for all fashionistas out there . . . Dreamy mixtures of fashion and a few favorite things. Diamonds layered upon diamonds and blush colored couture- truly fit for royalty- are amongst this collection of utterly beautiful images.  I find myself dreaming about velvet ribbon-tied heels, white bouquets of roses, sheer tulle skirts and delicate lace dresses, just to name a few. . .

Couture Makeup goes High Fashion

From bridal to Vogue, the past two weeks have been a flurry of photo shoots. Each day was filled to the brim with beauty; gorgeous models, rainbows of makeup colors, hair tools strewn about, stunning wardrobe and accessories that would make any fashionista jealous! The fun, down to earth, humble and extraordinarily talented team, each an expert in their field, worked together so that everything ran smoothly and was a real collaboration.

I had the great pleasure of working with one of the most talented and amazing photographers ever, Josh Green, the crazy talented guy responsible for all of the incredible images pictured here. And Mish Mucho — the queen of style, who not only styled every single look at each shoot, but also did all of the model’s hair — she is a miracle worker, beautiful soul, and the best hair stylist around. Lastly, the amazing makeup artist, 😉 Couture Makeup, (yes, that’s me!!) Don’t worry my head has not swelled up, I simply felt lucky to be there contributing my skills and passion for the art of makeup by beautifying the girls for each look. With such an incredible team at my side, I truly had the time of my life. (insert Dirty Dancing song) 😉

There is another shoot to come that is stocked FULL of amazing pictures with a totally different vibe, but I can’t post those until the magazine goes to print, so until then, consider this your teaser!

I had such an amazing time working with this team, from each beautiful model, to our “dream team” of professionals that truly joined forces and worked together to make each shoot a success. There was even a moment when we were losing the sun so Mish and I lighted the shot with our iPhones! And the picture turned out amazing! Haha! Cheers to team work and the absolute pleasure of creating art.

It’s rainy and cold outside today and we’re cosy by the Christmas tree with steaming coffee in hand and scented candles a glow throughout our workspace.  Dressed in cable knits and soft mohair sweaters of different styles, I thought that today’s style inspiration should be the knitwear variety. Whether styled with ankle boots or leather skirts, wavy locks or a chignon bun, here are a few gorgeously chic ideas and images for those impossibly cold December nights  . . .

Shades of the Ocean

Some designs are so uniquely pretty, they cause your imagination to stir, taking you to a time and place of tranquil beauty and gorgeous inspiration.  These rich shades of blue — turquoise, navy, dusk and even white — reminded me of the vibrant swirling mixtures of colors found in the breaking waves of the ocean . . .  And so, I was inspired, to design a post that captured the uniqueness of the beautiful and intricate fashions designed and inspired by the colors, creatures and life of the ocean.

It was easy, at first, to see how many of these delicate handmade dresses seemed inspired by the ocean. The ones above by Elle Saab were especially beautiful, they seemed to be directly inspired by sea coral. Each feminine gown — a medley of satin, organza and delicate beading — was designed using the most intricate details and textures. These dresses were made to float down runways — whether that be the catwalk of fashion week, an Oscar or Emmy red carpet, perhaps even the most important aisle – the wedding aisle, where true love awaits.  Let your imagination carry you away.  The couture beauty of each piece is truly a work of art, infused with all of the whimsy and romance of the sea.

This last dress, covered in stunning blue fringe, started it all — sashaying effortlessly, as if the ocean itself was floating down the catwalk —  left me awestruck and inspired to write this post.  I saw the ocean in it, I saw nature and art together . . . I saw truly breathtaking fashion.
