Getting ready for a night of romance? It’s summer and the trend is light and airy, with a touch of color and skin. Mixed metals went from taboo to fashion forward, as did showing a little skin. Done classy, it is the trend of summer 2013. Cropped tops with high-waisted skirts or shorts are all the rage.  Keep the amount of skin classy by choosing one asset to accentuate, for example, if you are showing stomach keep your skirt high-waisted and longer (i.e. no minis!) If you choose a backless shirt make sure the front has more coverage. A further tip, keep the colors neutral and soft to avoid a bad 90s flashback. Blush — a color that’s always feminine and elegant, is the perfect soft color to combine to anything white, black, or grey. Perfectly romantic for a Friday night date with that someone who makes you, well, blush . . .

Elie Saab, one of my favorite and most talented designers, has brought stunning works of art to the red carpet time and time again, so it comes as no surprise that this latest runway show, dipped in deep blue hues, is intermingled with everything that I  love about her style, including layers of chiffon, lace and tons of delicate beading  (a whole dress in fact!)  Every piece she sends out has shimmer and moves effortlessly down the catwalk. Her work is graceful and elegant.  I particularly love the first dress (pictured above). The color is so dreamy, it seems as though it was painted using strokes of water-color.  I picked my top favorites to show, but the entire collection is  just as sexy, sophisticated and so very etherial, simply put,  Absolute perfection. . .

Meet Brittney and Kevin, this year’s adorable couple for The Not Wedding. We had such a great time doing this retro themed engagement shoot. I had a feeling it was going to be one of my favorite shoots to date, so when I received the photos, I was thrilled to be right. In fact, I was so excited that I might have let out a loud squeal which was followed by a little happy dance in my chair. Yes, I’m a little nerdy, but when I get excited it just comes out!

Lets talk about everyone involved in making this shoot possible. Natale Bray and her husband, the amazing team of photographers, captured every detail to perfection. Their level of talent is rare and something that you don’t run across very often. The team of coordinators from Couture Events were amazing– as usual– executing every single detail to make the shoot perfect. The location, the props, the theme, and every detail down to the timeline of the shoot is all thanks to them. Krystel (the owner and lead coordinator) continues to blow me away with her creativity and passion on every project that she works on. Hair was done by Andrea Duggan and was simply perfection, as was the stylist who brought in the amazing wardrobe and styled the couple from head to toe. The beautiful flowers were by Ashley Elizabethae and the darling little deserts are thanks to The Sunday Sweet. This was truly a dream team. Enjoy these lovely and inspired photos of two people, madly and utterly in love. . .

This is one of my favorites . . .

And these two . . . I only wish I could make them bigger, the makeup colors really pop and the coral lipstick is my favorite ♥

I love fashion and everything that has to do with beauty… Fashion shows are the mecca of beauty. Women long for that perfect pout and flawless skin that all models flaunt down every runway in the world. And to top off the trendsetting hair and makeup, the fashion… oh the fashion, perfectly executed styling of each jaw dropping piece as it cascades down the runway… everyone watches in awe. Here is some of the amazingness (yes I know that’s not a word) that occurred on and off the runway this season at the Carolina Herrara show.

What a lovely editorial with sparkles, lace, ribbons, tulle, feathers and more…Italian Vogue, I love you.
