Pastels — if done right, will show up like magnificent colors reflecting in pools of light. What inspired this board is the gold chevron striped cake and the bunches of fresh flowers that adorn it. This ultra feminine pastel color palette screams happy and looks as stunning as a Spring sunset!

If you were watching the Oscars on Sunday night, you would have seen Jennifer Lawrence’s rather beautiful fall up the stairs, on the way to collect her best actress award, causing Bradley Cooper and Hugh Jackman to run to her rescue, which she quickly declined; the dress apparently had already had six inches taken off the bottom. No wonder she struggled! But, if one is to fall in palest pink Dior Haute Couture, a quick recovery is the way to do it . . .

Shown below, is an amazing dress by Gucci topped off with a pair of — always stunning — Christian Louboutin pumps and finished with a beaded, gemstone clutch by Marchesa. Each piece has tons of haute couture details. These are one of a kind, expensive looks that come straight off the runway. I am especially in LOVE with the dress, each mirror is cut to perfection to create the fiercest dress ever — fashion heaven. This homemade date instantly swept me off my feet. It is cleaver, cheap and meaningful. He used simple white sheets to drape the fort, cut out paper white clouds {my favorite detail} and hung them around the room. He draped a row of lights within the tent and the two were able to lay by candlelight, roasting s’mores over candle flames, eating cheese and wine while simply being together. Props to the guy for one of the sweetest, coolest and outta the box dates, ever.
Guys, put this idea in your pocket for that special girl, you’ll sweep her off her feet instantly.

Haute Couture {French for “high-sewing”} was born In the 1950s, with each garment created for a specific client. A couture garment is made to order and is usually made from high-quality, expensive fabric, sewn with extreme attention to detail and finish, often using time-consuming, hand-executed techniques. Look and fit take priority over the cost of materials and the time it takes to make, thus being a usual request of the rich and famous.
Fashion week 2013 has just come and gone, a breathless wave, here and gone about as fast as each model storms the runway. Trends for next season have been established, noted, and put into production. Designers anxiously await critic reviews and of course — the number one stamp of approval — celebrities sporting their designs on red carpets around the world. I was inspired by all of the glamour and glitz to write a post, a small glimpse into the world of fashion week. Enjoy all of the sequins, beading, makeup and beautiful whimsy of couture designs, models and fashion!
