Summer Inspiration

Let your imagination carry you away, to the beaches of Brazil, Hawaii, Greece; wherever your mind takes you. Sailboats and nautical stripes, coral and bikinis… Let yourself be swept away, for the warmth and beauty of summer, will soon be fading into a new season.

Today, I enjoyed the cool breeze off of the ocean, stuck my feet into the warm sand and felt the touch of sunlight, warming my skin and relaxing my body and mind. I’ve been so preoccupied these days.  I sometimes share deep truths about my life on this blog, but I really try to make it more of a beautiful escape… for us all. It’s so important to take time to enjoy the simple things, to reflect and meditate…. life is simply one beautiful day at a time.

A walk through Paris . . .

There is a magical place, where true sophistication and beauty abounds, poetry is written, couture fashion is created and for many – dreams become reality. It is like no place on earth.  It was once suggested, that one can not know true sophistication without spending some time in Paris. . . Although it was put a bit more bluntly… “Whoever does not visit Paris regularly will never really be elegant.” -Honoré de Balzac.  Now, of course I don’t believe that, but I will say… You can’t escape its beauty or its past, and yet what’s so wonderful about Paris is that the past and present intermingle so intangibly that it creates this juxtaposition of style that is gorgeously unique.   And while the city can be overly romanticized by us Americans (guilty,) there is still no question… it is a breathtaking place, frozen in time, capturing the essence of glamour and romance.

I spent some time there years ago, but don’t think that I fully took it all in, perhaps, that is why I write about it so often… Paris and I have some unfinished business!  So, for today – Tuesday, take a walk with me…. leave any stressful thoughts on a shelf and lets enjoy some time in the magical city of lights.

Romantic Date Idea

This homemade date instantly swept me off my feet. It is cleaver, cheap and meaningful. He used simple white sheets to drape the fort, cut out paper white clouds {my favorite detail} and hung them around the room. He draped a row of lights within the tent and the two were able to lay by candlelight, roasting s’mores over candle flames, eating cheese and wine while simply being together. Props to the guy for one of the sweetest, coolest and outta the box dates, ever.

Guys, put this idea in your pocket for that special girl, you’ll sweep her off her feet instantly.
