While life has had its major challenges lately, I am reminded of a favorite quote, which renewed my spirit:

A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.

– Winston Churchill

When your body gets tired and the world has given you a royal beat down, let your heart carry you forward.   Decide to rise above it, knowing, that we are defined by our attitude when we have everything and our patience when we have nothing.  I refuse to live in the darkness while my true essence is luminous, it is time to let it out. I wish to walk in the light and be loved for all of me, every part. Emily Dickinson wrote, “Forever is composed of nows.”  Now is what matters, now is the time and now it will be brighter than ever before. ❤

* The sign of a beautiful person is that they always see beauty in others.

* Never underestimate the power of a woman’s intuition!

* Life is ironic. It takes sadness to know what happiness is, noise to appreciate silence and absence to appreciate presence.

* I’m not pale it’s called porcelain, and I’m rocking it.

* There is a special place in my heart for the ones who were with me at my lowest and still loved me when I wasn’t very lovable. This type of unconditional love is rare, when you find it, fight for it.

* I may not be your first love, first kiss, or first date. . . but I want to be your last everything. ❤

The written word is truly an amazing thing. With the help of it we can record our innermost thoughts and look back at them months, years even decades later. I write for many different reasons, sometimes to simply spread beauty that I find in a photograph, to spread happiness… Other times, I use this blog as an outlet to share my feelings, personal failures and triumphs.

It is a beautiful sunny day.  And while the romance of yesterday’s rain, which had me cosy in a cafe, running to shops for cover and un-expectantly browsing lingerie and linens until the storm passed.  Today, is replaced by golden rays of late-winter sunshine, which are falling, falling on everything and everyone, warming my skin and illuminating the first signs of Spring blossoms.  For sometime now, I’ve been struggling to find my place.  And as the season is changing, I too feel an inner shift, igniting my hunger for adventure, for change…  I’ve learned many lessons, most of them painfully — as lessons often are.  Though I’d like to think that I’ve come out the other side wiser, better… stronger.

Truthfully, last year was a bit of a bumpy road for me. I had my heart broken, experienced every possible growing pain of running a small business while struggling financially, fought some very serious health problems, and unfortunately… navigated most of it alone, at least I felt very alone.  I try to keep things happy and upbeat around here but it definitely hasn’t been all rainbows and pretty shoes behind the scenes. And now, to find myself in the midst of a brand new year, I can’t help but reflect and ask myself — So, what’s next?

I’m really, really looking forward to a fresh start. I have awesome girlfriends by my side, a new roommate (who is a gift from the Lord) and the most supportive family in the entire world… So, I declare this my year of faith.  I am letting go, I can’t control everything.  I have a father in heaven who knows much more than I do, it’s time to let Him take the reins.  So bring it on, 2014. I’m ready for you!

“Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Similarly, happiness never decreases by being shared.”

Minutes before this couple was about to walk down the aisle this photo was taken. As the bride was getting ready to line up, she heard the groom’s voice calling for her around the corner.  Flustered, she immediately told him, “Don’t come in here! Don’t look! You can’t see me before the wedding!” He laughed and said, ” I promise I wont look, but can you reach around this corner, take my hand and pray with me before we walk down the aisle?” She made her way over to him and took his hand, both in tears, the groom led the couple in prayer. He lifted their marriage up to God and asked Him to bless it, to remain at the center of it and to bless them on their wedding day. I am so glad this was caught on camera, it is one of my favorite pictures.

hope this reminds us all about what a wedding really signifies — two people joining their lives together in the presence of God, family and friends. Weddings are fun, pretty and exciting, but a wedding is about a marriage and not a party, may we always remember that.

There is nothing more beautiful than prayer. A bride on her knees in prayer before one of the biggest moments in her life is touching beyond words.  I find this photo so beautiful… something that I had never seen before.

Please bless all of the brides and grooms of 2013. Especially the one’s I have the pleasure of working with.  I will be praying for your marriages. Each and every one of you. . .

“Love is patient and kind. It does not envy, It does not boast, and is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres”

1 Corinthians 13:4

I tell people I love them all the time. I’m a huge “feeler” as they call it 🙂 I’m ok with that, in fact, I embrace it! (probably cause I’m a feeler… touché) I thought we should break down this verse into key words to get a clearer picture of its meaning. Let’s get honest. Are you showing the fruits of {Biblical} love to those whom you claim the action toward?

– Patient
– Kind
– Does NOT envy
– Does NOT boast
– Is NOT proud
– Does NOT dishonor others
– Is NOT self-seeking
– Is NOT easily angered
– Keeps no record of wrongs
– Does NOT delight in evil
– Rejoices with the truth
– Protects
– Trusts
– Hopes
– Preserves

God, help us to practice these truths of what love really means. Help us to grow, you know we are not perfect and do not expect us to be, but help us to strive to be more like you. And may our lives be richer and fuller for loving others the way you first loved us

This morning I find myself clinging to the hope of renewed energy, optimism,  and the promise of a brighter day. . .

From a young age, I loved magazines.   It was my hope that I could someday create a beautiful,  whimsical world — full of beauty and romance, trends and fashion, photography and art, weddings and inspiration, articles and writings about my life — the  complete and honest essence of who I am and what I love.  I hope that on at least one occasionyou’ve been completely swept away by something I’ve posted.  I commit to continue putting forth all of my effort, so that you can escape into a little magic once in a while. . .

Cause we all need magic.

Let’s start today with soft colors and halo lighting — as if straight out of a fairytale.  By now you know I am completely flower obsessed, and after much thought, I deem the arrangement/bouquet below my favorite of all time.  It has everything, peonies, garden roses, and ranunculus all in soft blush pink and peach hues.

I’ve fallen head-over-heals in love with the below necklace! I think that I might NEED the necklace to keep on going in life… 😉 Luckily I’m kidding and can survive, because I think that it’s Tiffanys, which makes it’s way outta my price rage! Perhaps it is costume jewelry. I’m sure I can find a good look-alike somewhere else either way. Most likely at Nordstroms or Bloomingdales. If you find it let me know! xo
